HYS: Where should Sunderland strengthen in the January transfer window?

With January fast approaching, here at Football FanCast we want to know what part of his side Sunderland fans think that Jack Ross should be looking to strengthen when the transfer window does finally open.

The Northern Echo recently reported that the Black Cats boss only wants to make one signing in the winter, a right-back, after the recent injury suffered by Adam Matthews exposed a shortage in the squad.

The Echo though do claim that any offers for Lee Cattermole, Aiden McGeady and Bryan Oviedo would have to be listened to given their high wages, and this may force Ross to make more than one acquisition, as could the contracts of Josh Maja, Lynden Gooch and Denver Hume which all expire in the summer of 2019.

For now though, Ross will be focusing solely on pushing his team to gain automatic promotion back to the Championship, and an attacker who can naturally play on the left-hand side could be a shrewd buy.

So, Sunderland fans, where should Ross strengthen in January? Have your say by voting in the poll below.
