A number of sources have claimed Jose Mourinho wants the 21-year-old to go out on loan this season to gain more first-team experience and The Daily Mail reiterate that narrative, revealing that McNair has been offered to Sunderland.

And it’s further claimed that the Black Cats have also been offered Donald Love, who made his United debut last season after returning from a seven-game loan spell at Wigan Athletic. He’s also represented Scotland nine times at youth level.

David Moyes is said to be open-minded about the prospect of signing both youngsters and although a double-loan seems more likely, The Daily Mail refuse to rule out permanent transfers to the Stadium of Light.
