Sunderland fans are praising the heavens this week, as Jack Rodwell is finally set to leave the club once and for all.
According to reports, Rodwell will move to the MLS this summer, and Sunderland fans are absolutely destroying the transfer flop on Twitter.
The 27 year-old had incredible potential when he broke into the Everton side as a youngster, but his big move to Manchester City was a complete disaster.
Making just 16 league appearances at the Etihad, the much-maligned midfielder joined Sunderland hoping to revive his career, but once again he struggled.

After joining in 2014, the midfielder went a truly remarkable 1,370 days without a win, which ended in 2017 with the 4-0 romp over Crystal Palace.
Rodwell asked to leave the Stadium of Light earlier this year, and former manager Chris Coleman’s comments on the midfielder drew even more light to his perilous situation.
Fans are delighted they are finally going to cut ties with Rodwell, as the new ownership looks to trim the wage bill this summer.

Whatever we’ve paid him, it’ll be too much. Anyway, good riddance.
