Lots of Sunderland fans have been discussing the futures of two crucial first-team stars amidst transfer interest from better leagues.
Sunderland missed out on promotion back to the Championship by a last-minute strike at Wembley in Jack Ross’ debut campaign with the club, and it is crucial they now develop and improve upon what the Scot began to build last year.
A report from The Sun on Sunday (July 7, page 61) could throw a spanner in the works though, claiming Aiden McGeady is attracting interest from the MLS.
The Republic of Ireland international, who was crowned the fans’ player of the season last term, is reportedly wanted by a number of American sides after word of his desire to play in the United States got out.

There is also interest from Millwall in Black Cats shot-stopper Jon McLaughlin, reports The Sunderland Echo.
Like McGeady, McLaughlin endeared himself to Sunderland supporters with some excellent displays last season, and fans are desperate to keep the pair.
After Roker Report asked fans how crucial it is that they keep the experienced duo, the resulting Twitter reactions are pretty telling…
In a word, no. Losing them would be another Maja situation where we’d likely have to spend more than we get for them both to replace them with players who aren’t as good. Keep them both for as long as we can, both are good enough for championship.

It will be a disaster of a window if either of these two are sold

If you tally up the amount of points these two got us last season then it will take two huge bids to prise them away, need more in not out!

Bottom half if we sell them

The simple answer is No!! If we have any ambition to go up there’s no price that could get them. We probable have limited funds as is so to let either go would be silly

Need to keep both of them. If not then I can see us languishing in League One for sometime to come.

No, we’d have been nowhere near play offs last season without them and squad looks worse so far
