George Honeyman has been a Sunderland player for his entire career having come through the academy in 2015.
At the start of the season, manager Jack Ross named the midfielder as club captain.
Since the campaign kicked off, Honeyman has had a mixed bag of performances in the 16 games that he has played in.
During that time, the midfielder has scored three goals and registered two assists, but there is speculation that the Black Cats could be without him for the second half of the season.
According to The Sun, Sheffield United are keen to make a move for Honeyman when the transfer window reopens in January.
This report has sparked a debate among the Sunderland supporters, with some open to letting him go, while others believe that he is good enough to do a decent job for the remainder of the campaign.
Newspaper The Chronicle began a discussion via their Twitter page.
I don’t think we get much for him since his contract is up end of the season. I rather keep him so he can help us get that promotion and let him go for free at the end of the season IMO. Promotion is more important

He’s not our best player to be honest we have 6 more players that will get in that side to fill his boots.
If it’s for a good price I wouldn’t be sad about his loss tbh

No. Although not brilliant as either a 10, box to box, or a dog, George is a steady squad member who can do a job in all 3 midfield positions. Keep him unless silly money offered.

Not for me no. I understand why he isnt rated hugely by many of our supporters and i find it hard to describe his best role. But he does add energy, albeit his final ball is wanting at times. 1/2

No as much as he hasn’t been the best he’s been important to us

Yes, would he like a lift down

He’s our captain and plays every week and is an important player. No less than £5m

Don’t sell any player apart from Oviedo unless it is to PL club, particularly not your captain.
