Sunderland fans have given up on Chelsea loanee Jake Clarke-Salter after the young defender received yet another red card on Saturday.
Clarke-Selter has not had a particularly successful loan spell at Sunderland, but has still started eight league games for the Black Cats because of the lack of other quality options in that position.
He could have maybe started more games… if he didn’t keep getting sent off. The 20 year-old received his second red card of the season in the 2-0 loss to Preston North End this weekend, and will now miss the next two games.
The young defender had only just returned from the suspension he received for his red card against Middlesbrough, and now leaves Chris Coleman desperately short of options at the back.
The Black Cats home form has been something of a joke this season, and Clarke-Salter’s dismissal on Saturday put the nail in the coffin for another home defeat. Coleman says they were trying to sub him off when he got sent off for his second yellow of the match, with the score at 1-0 at that time.
Fans are fed up with the Chelsea youngster’s lack of discipline, and some of the best Twitter reactions can be found below…

No need to foul as had cover. Has a lot to learn and it appears that it’s at our cost. Send the kid back to Chelsea! Is he any better than Beadling?
