Sunderland fans are glad to see the back of Lamine Kone, after reports suggested the towering defender will leave this summer.
According to The Chronicle (10:30), Reading want to take Kone on loan this summer, but the Black Cats are trying to dump the defender permanently.
The giant centre back scored a couple of vital goals to keep Sunderland in the Premier League when he joined in 2016, and has made nearly 70 league appearances for the Black Cats.
His form went off the deep end in the Championship though, and fans blasted him for what seemed to be a total lack of effort at times last season.
He also asked to leave the club in the summer of 2016, just six months after joining, and let’s just say fans wont be too upset if he leaves.
Reading are all set to sign John O’Shea when his Sunderland contract expires, and fans on Wearside are finding the Royals’ pursuit of the disastrous duo pretty comical.
Fans are hoping it’s a permanent deal rather than a loan, as the £6.3m-rated defender would command a fee big enough to reinvest in the squad.

Obviously Reading didn’t watch too many Sunderland games last season with Kone and O’Shea as the centre back partnership.

The 40k a week he frees up would literally let us buy 3 players. Nobody is going to be daft enough to buy him.
