Loads of Sunderland fans have been reacting to some late transfer news, as popular ex-Black Cat Vito Mannone has signed for MLS side Minnesota United.
Mannone, who has been at Reading since he left Sunderland in 2017, has joined Minnesota on a 12-month loan deal, per his official Twitter account.
The 30 year-old started his career with Arsenal, where he made 15 Premier League appearances, before moving to Wearside in 2013.
The 30 year-old then racked up 80 appearances at the Stadium of Light, keeping 22 clean sheets and conceding 120 goals.
While this isn’t exactly a statistic for the stopper to be proud of, he shared some special moments in a red and white shirt.
The former Italy Under-21 international got a win and clean sheet on his Sunderland debut against Manchester City, and he also saved two penalties against Manchester United in the Carabao Cup semi-final in 2014.
He won both the Supporters’ Player of the Year and the club’s official Player of the Year awards in 2014, and the Twitter reactions down below are full of praise for the old number one…
