Lots of Sunderland fans have been reacting to the latest transfer news, as it looks like the Black Cats have finally signed a striker.
According to Roker Report, Watford youngster Jerome Sinclair is on Wearside today to complete a medical with Sunderland.
The 21 year-old will join 19 year-old Josh Maja on Jack Ross’ very short list of striker options.
The deal is expected to be a one-year loan, as the former Liverpool youngster has struggled to break into the first team with the Hornets.
The Black Cats have been extremely busy this summer, but they are ridiculously short of options up front, and the step down to League Two could be perfect for Sinclair.
He joined Liverpool as a teenager in 2011, and became the Reds’ youngest ever player when he came on as a substitute in a League Cup clash with West Brom.
Sinclair has massive potential, brilliant pace and a rocket right foot, but he is just lacking that killer instinct and extra confidence that all great strikers need.
Fans are hoping he can find it on Wearside, and you can find some of the best Twitter reactions down below…
Can remember a time when we signed a player from Watford who I’d certainly never heard of, and the rest they say, is history #givetheladachance

Remember him being very highly rated at Liverpool, and they didn’t want to let him go when he went to Watford. Hopefully there’s at least one or two more strikers to come in after him though

I’ll take Jerome Sinclair for a season in League One everyday of the week. A young English striker who still has everything to prove and needs a platform to do it on. He’ll be a great addition if we get the deal done

Let’s just give the lad a chance, Sunderland fans slated Maguire before seeing him in a Sunderland shirt and he’s been great so far. He wants to come and play football. Let’s give him a clean slate at a new club.

Adds some pace up top. But his goals record is poor. Either way won’t judge him in till he kicks a ball for us

Very excited with this one – this lad is a very good player.
Reminds me of a young Frazier Campbell.
This lad will score plenty of goals in L1 – great work by the club if they get this deal done

Wow! That’s a good striker at this level
