Loads of Sunderland fans have been reacting to Saturday’s 2-1 defeat, and they’re not impressed by yet another slow start from Jack Ross’ side.
Sunderland fans spoke this week about their slow starts this season, and Saturday marked five consecutive League Two games in which the Black Cats have conceded first.
Ross’ side have come back to either draw or win in the other four games, but Burton Albion held on for all three points on Saturday.
The home side were two goals to the good after just 36 minutes, and those goals from Jamie Allen and Kyle McFadzean were enough to hold off a second half strike from Chris Maguire.
Sunderland fans have been impressed by the new manager so far this season, but they’re not happy that he hasn’t managed to fix these poor first half performances.
The Black Cats welcome Rochdale to the Stadium of Light next weekend, and judging by the Twitter reactions below Ross has got a lot of work to do…
Exact same mistakes as last year! Solid enough start but drop off in form is a concern… also not having a settled team each week! Success came from having established team. Also think dropping Hume and leaving Matthews was a poor decision #SAFC

It’s been coming with the awful performances over the last few games. Hopefully this gives the players a kick up the arse and reminds them we need the effort from kick off.

I know people keep saying it’s a massive job and it’s only 8 games but 6 out of 8 we concede first and we start slow. Just how long do you give it? We can obv play but only seems for 1 half. A lot of work needed on training ground on defending and how to play on the front foot

Again not starting games with passion and looking like wanting to win. Second best all day. Wake up call needed.

That was woeful,

We keep changing the team, the formation and the tactics. These are a new group of players, we can’t keep changing this much every week.

@ALS_Fanzine @SunderlandAFC Poor…totally unprofessional how some of our players approach games. Slow starts week in week out, trying to claw our way back. Management need to get a grip of this ASAP. Wouldn’t look for any positives out of this…needs to improve quickly

We simply can’t defend crosses into the box. Needs to be sorted out quickly.

Very disappointing, couldn’t seem to get the basics right
