Lee Cattermole has always been known for his brutal tackling, and Sunderland fans are absolutely loving a vintage ‘Catts’ tackle the 31 year-old put in for his new club this weekend.
Shirt tucked in above his belly button, sliding all over the pitch and rarely ever venturing into the opponents’ third of the pitch, we all know the Cattermole way.
The Englishman was beloved by some on Wearside for his old fashioned style, and those fans have taken to Twitter to revel in his glory after he produced a stunning last-ditch tackle for VVV-Venlo.
The veteran midfielder joined the Eredivisie outfit this summer, and made his debut in a 17-minute cameo this weekend in a 2-2 draw with FC Utrecht.
Of course, he was booked in his short stay on the pitch, but also produced this amazing challenge to stop a certain goal.
