Sunderland fans react to major Maja update

Loads of Sunderland fans have been reacting to a wonderful transfer update from Stewart Donald, as the new owner completely dismissed rumours of a January exit for Josh Maja.

According to reports, Tottenham have the chance to sign Maja for just £1.5m when the transfer window opens in January.

The report claims the Black Cats are resigned to losing the teen sensation for a nominal fee, so as not to lose him for free when his contract expires next summer.

Donald has absolutely destroyed the rumours though, telling one fan on Twitter that they are working hard to tie Maja down to a new and improved deal.

The 19 year-old has 12 League One goals this season, and losing him mid-way through the season would be a huge hit to the club’s promotion hopes.

While fans have certainly appreciated the attacking football and impressive summer signings from the club’s new leadership, Donald’s honesty and passion might just take the cake, a far cry from the attitude of the infamous Ellis Short.
