Loads of Sunderland fans have been reacting to Saturday’s win, and they are particularly impressed by the performance of teenager Bali Mumba.
It almost seemed written in the stars as Lynden Gooch headed home the winner for Sunderland against Charlton, but it wasn’t one of the goalscorers that impressed fans the most.
Gooch’s header gave the Black Cats a 2-1 win in Jack Ross’ first match at the helm, after young Josh Maja had cancelled out an early Charlton penalty.
Mumba is getting all the shouts for man of the match though, as the young midfielder looked right at home in his first senior start for the club.
The teenager replaced John O’Shea to make his debut in the closing stages of last season’s final match, and he looks like he could play a way bigger part this year.
Ross and new owner Stewart Donald are clearly intent on using youth to guide them back up, as the likes of Maja, Mumba and Jerome Sinclair all look set for big seasons.
Mumba was the pick of the bunch though, dominating the midfield and helping the Black Cats kick off their season with three points.
You can find some of the best Twitter reactions down below, and it looks like Ross has pulled a master stroke by putting his faith in the youngster…

Thought he played tremendous, can only recall him giving the ball away once in a dangerous situation, otherwise he looked really composed for his age
