Sunderland are hoping to complete a double loan swoop for Manchester United midfielder Adnan Januzaj and Liverpool striker Fabio Borini, as reported by the Guardian.
Januzaj, who has struggled to live up to expectations after initially bursting on to the Old Trafford scene two years ago, could complete his Stadium of Light move shortly after Man United confirm the arrival of Barcelona’s Pedro.
Fabio Borini enjoyed a loan spell with the Black Cats in 2013/14, scoring 10 goals in 40 first team outings, but refused to make his Sunderland stay permanent last summer.
But his Anfield future looks to be over after he failed to force his way in to Brendan Rodgers’ first team plans last season, and is now expected to leave the club after all.
The Guardian claim the Sunderland had lost interest in Borini, but a serious injury to Adam Johnson last week has led to manager Dick Advocaat changing his mind.
