Sunderland offered another Chelsea ace as Kaboul edges towards exit

Sunderland have been offered the chance to sign Matt Miazga on a season-long loan deal from Chelsea as Younes Kaboul edges towards a move to Watford, according to reports from the Guardian.

The Black Cats’ commanding centre-back is on the verge of joining the Hertfordshire club after the North East side accepted an offer from the Vicarage Road outfit.

Sunderland have already been busy this summer in terms of adding players in defensive positions, with Donald Love and Paddy McNair signed from Manchester United, while Chelsea flop Papy Djilobodji has also been signed to bolster David Moyes’ ranks.

And reports claim the Stadium of Light could become the new home of another Blues centre-back in the shape of highly-rated American Miazga.

The towering 21-year-old joined the London side from New York Red Bulls during the winter period of last season, and although he made a handful of appearances last term, his route into Antonio Conte’s team this season looks to be blocked.

It remains to be seen whether or not Sunderland act upon the offer, which is thought to be a year-long loan.
