Sunderland willing to make offer for Serie A ace amid rival interest

Sunderland are interested in Torino’s Davide Zappacosta and are ready to make a ‘juicy’ offer for his signature, according to reports from CalcioNews24.

The Black Cats’ transfer business has geared up in recent weeks following a summer of upheaval that saw Sam Allardyce leave to take Roy Hodgson’s place as England manager and David Moyes head in as his replacement.

Adnan Januzaj (on loan), Donald Love and Paddy McNair have all been signed from Manchester United, while Chelsea’s Papy Djilobodji has also been drafted in, but reports claim that the North East side’s work is not yet done, with Zappacosta also wanted.

It’s understood that the 24-year-old is being looked at by a host of clubs – Fiorentina and Sussuolo are named among the potential suitors – but that the Premier League side are the only party prepared to make a ‘juicy’ offer.

The former Atalanta man, who was capped 17 times at U-21 level by Italy, made 25 league appearances for the Turin side last term, notching one goal and one assist in the process while helping his side to a midtable finish.
