Former Leeds United star David Norris insists that Raphinha should be played as a number 10, a position Rodrigo is currently accommodating, after Daniel James was signed from Manchester United.
The Brazilian has enjoyed a good start to the season despite the club’s inconsistent form in the Premier League.
Leeds have yet to win in the top-flight, losing to both Manchester United and Liverpool, and drawing with Everton, Burnley, and Newcastle United.
The 24-year-old has scored twice, netting against the Toffees and the Magpies, and Norris believes that Raphinha may need to change positions to accommodate James.
The Wales international plays primarily as a winger and Norris thinks that the 24-year-old, who is valued at £27m by Transfermarkt, could be deployed as a playmaker for the remainder of the season.
Raphinha has made a total of 36 appearances for Leeds, scoring eight goals, and has recently been called up to the Brazil squad, although he has yet to make his full international debut.
He said: “James would take up a position on the wing and I’d like to see Raphinha in the 10 role.
“I’ve spoken to a few fans and I think they would like to see that as well and Rodrigo will probably be the one to end up missing out, I think.”
