Leeds United created some breathing room in the Championship on Wednesday night as they made it a third straight 1-0 victory.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side defeated Middlesbrough on their own turf to move five points clear of third-placed Fulham, although they still remain four points off the league leaders.
A strike from Mateusz Klich right before half-time was enough to separate the two sides as the west Yorkshire outfit once again struggled to convert their chances.
Leeds had eight shots on target from a total of 12 yet couldn’t find the net more than once, leading to supporters blasting their striker Patrick Bamford, who hasn’t scored in six league games now.
Here’s what fans have been saying…
Patrick Bamford that is unbelievable, hats off to you mate because that right there is one of the worst misses in the history of the game. Impressive if anything.

Bamford is so bad it's become comical. #lufc

Bamford. Wow. #lufc

How? How?? Does he actually want to score?? Patrick Bamford is an absolute liability #lufc

Anyone that thinks Bamford has been good tonight needs putting down. Awful again

Bamford was called a variety of things that isn’t safe to publish but phrases like “absolute liability” and “comical” only go to show how angry some fans were with his display.
A couple of supporters used the expressions “wow” and “unbelievable” to emphasise their disbelief at his continuing troubles.
While others quickly pointed out that his inability to finish was the major problem.
Per SofaScore, Bamford had five shots and missed two big chances, so to some extent, people aren’t wrong to slate him.
Patrick Bamford works tirelessly for Leeds and is invaluable to the way Bielsa plays but he doesnβt score anywhere near enough goals. His conversion rate is shocking. One of the worst in the league. His primary responsibility is to score goals. #LUFC

Leeds United were superb yesterday. Bamford's finishing is still comical, Costa too casual in front of goal and Casilla only ever a second from disaster but we absolutely battered a decent team. Phillips is far too good for the championship1

You just can't legislate for Bamford's misses – no defence whatsoever. If and when we get promoted, he needs replacing. Not clinical enough #lufc

Should be finishing them bamford… π€¦π»ββοΈ

“Not clinical enough” and “shocking” summed up his conversion rate.
It has led to some calling for the club to sack him off entirely with one supporter going as far as describing him as an “imposter” who should be “sacked immediately.”
Another would swap Kieffer Moore at Wigan Athletic for Bamford and a further member of the Whites faithful joked that he would rather play Stevie Wonder.
@apopey can you ask bamford a question for me, when is he going to go to the gaffer and say hes actually not a football player, and that he should be dropped, he should say hes been an imposter, and should be sacked immediately, ask him when hes going to do that.

Would swap keifer Moore for Bamford tomorrow #lufc
