Former All Leeds TV presenter Joe Wainman has told Football FanCast that he can see former West Brom star Matheus Pereira returning to the Premier League in the near future.

Pereira recently joined Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal following West Brom's relegation to the Championship.

However, prior, the 25-year-old was linked with a host of Premier League clubs, including Leeds United. According to the Daily Express, the Whites and West Ham were just a couple of English top-flight sides that were interested in signing him this summer.

Nothing, of course, materialised and Pereira now finds himself at the King Fahd International Stadium in Saudi Arabia.

It is a career move Wainman has questioned, though he can imagine the Brazilian attacker returning to the Premier League one day.

"It's poor in terms of his career," Wainman said as he discussed Pereira's move to Al-Hilal. "But maybe he'll go over there, have a couple of seasons out there, earn his money and then look to come back to the Premier League because I do think he's a Premier League player."

Last season, despite West Brom performing at a level that condemned them to relegation, Pereira still managed to deliver.

The former Sporting Lisbon man was able to score 11 goals in the Premier League so does indeed seem a good fit for the division.
