Leeds United are a side who boast a wealth of young talent at present, with the likes of Joe Gelhardt, Sam Greenwood, Crysencio Summerville and Wilfried Gnonto all making the step up from youth to senior football this season, while youngsters such as Sonny Perkins, Mateo Joseph and Darko Gyabi have all been impressing in Michael Skubala's U21s side.

However, one player who appears somewhat stuck between the first-team and youth football is Cody Drameh, the 20-year-old right-back who was handed his first Premier League minutes of the season in the 5-2 defeat to Brentford back in September and has since been absent from all of Jesse Marsch's matchday squads.

Despite this absence from the senior side, considering just how impressive the England U21 international has been for Skubala's side in recent weeks, the full-back would very much appear to be pushing for a regular spot in the Whites' first-team squad.

The £1.7m-rated talent particularly impressed in the recent Papa John's Trophy draw with Crewe Alexandra, as, despite the result seeing the U21s bow out of the competition, Drameh was a continual source of creativity from full-back.

Indeed, over the course of his 90 minutes on the pitch on Tuesday, the 20-year-old enjoyed 105 touches of the ball - the most of any player to feature in the match - made three key passes, found his man with two of his 11 attempted crosses, completed three of his nine attempted long balls and created one big chance.

The £4.4k-per-week defender also impressed in metrics more typical of his position, making six tackles and winning nine of his 12 duels - a success rate of 75% of his duels.

These metrics saw the right-back - who Glen Williams stated it is a "crying shame" is playing youth football - earn a simply sensational SofaScore match rating of 7.8 against the League Two side, ranking him as the third-best player to feature in the match.

As such, it would very much appear as if the player who Steve Morrison claimed "just keeps going and going" is ready for another crack at first-team football, with Marsch potentially being awarded with the discovery of his next academy starlet if he places his trust in the 20-year-old.
