Leeds United begin the post-Jesse Marsch era with a trip to Manchester United in the Premier League later this evening, where U21 boss Michael Skubala will take the dugout as caretaker manager as the club continues to find the American's replacement.

The 49-year-old was sacked on Monday after a 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest, their seventh straight top-flight outing without a victory, with their last coming way back in November.

Marsch took over from the beloved Marcelo Bielsa but was only able to muster up a 25% win rate in the Premier League.

Attention now turns to a double-header against an injury-hit but resurgent Red Devils side, starting with tonight's encounter under the Old Trafford lights.

Skubala hasn't had much time to get his own ideas across, however temporary they may be, so we're likely to see several of the usual suspects out on the pitch. However, he ought to take Jack Harrison out of the firing line as he's someone that badly failed Marsch during his time here.

The former Manchester City winger was subject to interest late in the January transfer window, perhaps surprisingly as he's enduring a pretty rough season by his standards - indeed, he has managed just one goal and four assists across 18 appearances, though just one contribution has come in his last 15 outings, via Transfermarkt.

Harrison was woeful against Forest too - his first outing since Leicester City tried to sign him.

Per Sofascore, the £50k-per-week dynamo was graded as the worst-performing player for either side with a 6.0 rating. Across 83 minutes, he lost the ball every 2.3 touches, failed to provide a key pass and was accurate in just 69% of his passing attempts.

It's made worse by the fact that he was deployed centrally as a no.10 of sorts, where he also lost 77.7% of his duels and managed to see his only shot blocked.

With the likes of Sam Greenwood, Brenden Aaronson and new signing Weston McKennie on the bench, it would surely be easy for Skubala to axe Harrison from the lineup this evening.

The 26-year-old, who was once hailed as a "revelation" by former teammate Frank Lampard, must be benched for tonight's clash if the caretaker boss is to get the Yorkshire giants back on track.

Harrison badly failed Marsch during his tenure and he cannot afford to persist with the same kind of loyalty, especially if he's to throw his own name into the hat.

As such, Skubala must make the bold decision to drop one of Leeds' regular starters in a bid to get a shock result in Manchester.
