It's no secret that Leeds United have been struck down with a significant number of injury issues over the past few weeks with the likes of Kalvin Phillips, Liam Cooper, Pascal Struijk, Jamie Shackleton, Rodrigo, Charlie Cresswell, Dan James and Patrick Bamford out on the sidelines.

Leeds' recent 4-1 defeat against Arsenal at Elland Road looked to have added another name to their injury list with winger Jack Harrison having to be replaced by Crysencio Summerville in the first half with a suspected injury.

With Leeds set to take on Liverpool for their next league game at Anfield on Boxing Day, it seems as though the Yorkshire club have been handed some good news regarding Harrison's fitness ahead of their match against Jurgen Klopp's side.

What's the news?

Speaking after the defeat against Arsenal, Leeds journalist Phil Hay revealed via Marcelo Bielsa that it was a big knock just above his hip that forced the Englishman off the pitch, but is not something that will take a long time to recover from.

That suggests that he could well be fit enough to take on Liverpool on Saturday, which would be a big relief to Bielsa given the other attacking players out injured.

Harrison hasn't managed to find the back of the net in the league so far this season in 15 appearances and his overall performances haven't been great with SofaScore listing him as one of Leeds' lowest-rated players this season with an overall rating of just 6.42/10. However, considering a stark lack of options, a lot of Leeds fans will still be buzzing to hear that his apparent injury sustained in the Arsenal match is not a particularly serious one.

Given how Summerville didn't even see out the rest of the game against Mikel Arteta's side at the weekend with Bielsa taking him off with 50 minutes under his belt in place of Liam McCarron, this suggests that the Leeds boss may not fully trust the young Dutchman to deliver the sort of performance he wants and why he'd presumably rather have Harrison on the pitch instead.

While it's good news that Harrison's injury isn't serious, he'll need to step up for the team and start delivering some good performances or at least some goals or assists if he wants to be the player that drags Leeds through their rough patch at the moment.
