The Yorkshire Evening Post's Graham Smyth has dropped a four-word update on the future of Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa.

What's the story?

The Whites boss has overseen a difficult start to the current Premier League campaign, with their weekend victory over Norwich only the second of the competiton.

That was then followed by Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani publicly coming out and declaring that Bielsa is supported unconditionally, which prompted a fan on Twitter to wonder whether this was the first step in actually seeing the Argentine being sacked.

But, in response, Smyth muttered the following four words: "I wouldn't be worried."

The reporter then added: "The only thing more insane than the idea of Leeds hiring Marcelo Bielsa would be the idea of Leeds sacking Marcelo Bielsa after a tough start to a season."

Fans will be delighted

Make no mistake about it, while Bielsa has presided over a very difficult couple of months, the Argentine has plenty of credit left in the bank for him to be given the time and space to get Leeds out of their current predicament.

Speaking recently, former Whites full-back Danny Mills opened up on how the Leeds boss must be feeling right now.

He said: "He will put himself under more pressure than anybody else. That’s what it comes down to first and foremost. That’s all he’ll be concerned about. We’ve seen before that he’s not massively bothered about outside influences.

“All he wants to do is to improve his teams and improve his players. He’ll be absolutely desperate to do that. I don’t think he’s concerned about outside influences in the slightest. I don’t think it’s a case of walking away.

"Luke Ayling’s missing as well. At the moment you’re looking at four of your best players not being available. If you do that to any team, we saw what happened with Liverpool last season. They’re some of the best players in the squad and that’s going to make it very, very difficult, no matter who you are."

Given everything Bielsa has done in getting the Whites promoted to the Premier League in the first place, and then ensuring a top-half finish last season, he has done more than enough to steer the ship away from choppy waters.

Leeds fans will surely be buzzing at Smyth's update that there appears to be no intention of getting rid of Bielsa. He is far too crucial for the Whites and their supporters.
