Leeds United have been handed a huge injury boost ahead of their upcoming Premier League meeting with Wolverhampton Wanderers this Friday.

What's the latest?

In recent comments cited by Leeds Live, Jesse Marsch revealed that, despite being brought off after 60 minutes with a tight quad in the 2-1 win over Norwich City on Sunday, Rodrigo should be available for selection for the trip to Wolves this week - with the forward's estimated return date being March 18.

Regarding the 31-year-old's current condition, the American manager said: "Rodrigo, will have to see. I think he had a little bit of tightness in his quad. I don't think it would be classified as an injury, but we just have to see how he recovers over the next days."

Supporters will be buzzing

While Rodrigo has not exactly been in the best form of his career so far this season, the news that the Spain international should be in line for an immediate return to the Whites' starting XI against Wolves on Friday will nevertheless have left the Elland Road faithful buzzing.

Indeed, over his 22 Premier League appearances this term, the £13.5m-rated forward has scored four goals, registered two assists and created two big chances for his teammates, as well as taking an average of 1.7 shots and making 1.4 key passes per game.

These returns have seen the £100k-per-week 31-year-old average a respectable SofaScore match rating of 6.83, ranking him as Leeds' sixth-best performer in the top flight of English football.

As such, it is clear to see that the availability of Rodrigo, especially with Patrick Bamford still working his way back to full fitness, will come as a huge boost to Marsch and his side ahead of the Wolves game - with the fixture all but being must-win for the Whites should they wish to give themselves the best possible chance of avoiding the drop come the end of the season.
