Journalist Beren Cross has claimed that Leeds United youngsters Sonny Perkins, Mateo Joseph and Cody Drameh will not start in the club’s next game.
While the manager may look to rotate some of his side – with Rasmus Kristensen tipped to start over Luke Ayling for instance – it seems as though some talented youngsters won’t be given their chance in the first XI.
Indeed, when writing an update for LeedsLive, Cross explained: “‘Sonny Perkins, Mateo Joseph and Cody Drameh all saw more than an hour on Friday night with the under-21s, which effectively rules them out of starting Sunday’s game.”
Interestingly enough, Perkins, Joseph and Drameh all started the game and were all subbed off in the 65th minute. This may well suggest that Marsch requested them all to be given some sort of a rest ahead of the senior FA Cup tie.
And so while they are unlikely to start against Cardiff, there looks to be every chance they’ll get the chance to impress coming off the bench in Wales.
Perkins has just one senior appearance to his name, while Joseph has two, and Drameh is more experienced with seven games for the Whites, plus 22 during a loan spell coincidentally with the Bluebirds.
