Leeds United have seen a host of incomings this January transfer window, whilst retaining their key assets in a push to secure their Premier League status once again.

Last summer saw the unfortunate departure of both Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha, both of whom had been instrumental figures in two wildly contrasting seasons.

The first saw their return to the top flight, and Phillips' combative presence was essential in their top-half finish.

Then, when injuries struck the midfield maestro, the Brazilian speedster scored 11 times last season to ensure safety by the finest of margins.

With both now gone, it seems that the only true asset left to lose of those that have not recently joined is Jack Harrison, who made his move from Manchester City permanent in the summer of 2021 after numerous loan spells.

The 26-year-old has impressed for the Whites under both Jesse Marsch and Marcelo Bielsa, with his tireless work rate and wicked left foot proving decisive on numerous occasions during his time in England. He has established himself as a fine winger for this level, with 30 goals and 29 assists across his time at Elland Road.

As such, he has drawn interest from Leicester City this window, who reportedly made a £20m bid just last week for his services.

Whilst they deliberate over whether to sell or not, they should already be sounding out potential replacements. One which seems to have sprung to the mind of Victor Orta is that of Ayoze Perez, who himself only joined the Foxes in 2019 for £30m.

Having struggled to really kick on at the King Power Stadium, the 29-year-old's playtime has been limited with each passing season following his debut campaign where he had scored an admirable eight and assisted four.

Even before that he had been excelling for Newcastle United, and in the year before he was purchased his 17-goal contributions for the struggling Magpies clearly caught the attention.

The Spaniard has proven himself a far more lethal asset than Harrison across his experienced tenure in the Premier League, and whilst on Tyneside was dubbed "the new Alan Shearer" by numerous headlines, as relayed by Alan Pardew, such was his pedigree.

To be compared to the greatest goalscorer in the history of the division speaks volumes for his ability, and should Leeds manage to swap him for Harrison would mark a huge coup for the Yorkshire outfit.
