Leeds United have enjoyed a fairly prosperous January transfer window, in which they have bolstered in a number of key areas as they look to guarantee survival.

Last season's final-day stresses will still be fresh in the memory of Victor Orta and Jesse Marsch, hence their eagerness to spend big on some key additions.

Welcoming Max Wober and Georginio Rutter to Elland Road early on, it seems like the Whites are now set to announce Weston McKennie as the USA international has completed his medical.

Now, to further cap off what has been a whirlwind of a window, perhaps the Yorkshire outfit could look to a cheaper talent to offer slightly more depth in their attacking positions.

That option seems to have been staring them in the face for some time now, as Cho Gue-sung remains a viable asset who was offered around various European clubs earlier this month, including Leeds.

The South Korea international earned widespread praise for his exploits during the 2022 World Cup, and his arrival would represent yet another player of east Asian descent plying their trade in top European leagues. It is a number that seems to grow with each passing year, as does the quality.

Cho earned a 7.03 Sofascore rating whilst in Qatar, as his country remarkably progressed through the group stages before being admirably knocked out by a rampant Brazil.

During this period, the 25-year-old would score twice, offering but a glimpse into the marksman he has been over his time across numerous leagues.

His most recent success came during the 2021/22 season where he was in fine goalscoring form in the K League 1.

Scoring 14 times in just 26 games, he would record a further five assists before bagging three goals in five K League 1 final matches.

This would be supplemented by four goals in as many Korean Cup matches too.

Whether it be hung up in the air or a snapshot, Cho is a decidedly lethal asset and would prove a threat even in the Premier League.

This was a notion supported by journalist Pete O'Rourke, who lauded the forward whilst speaking to GIVEMESPORT: "He’s a physical player as well, he can score goals from aerial areas, and I think he’s definitely proven to be a real handful for defenders.“

This quiet addition could be the key to knitting together the other three higher-profile deals, with an honest and hardworking character to provide ample competition for Rutter, Patrick Bamford and Rodrigo. As such, it would most certainly prove the perfect end to the window for Victor Orta and co.
