An update has emerged on Leeds United and their plans to sign an attacker on deadline day of the summer transfer window

What's the talk?

Journalist Dean Jones has revealed that the Whites could go back in for Spain international Adama Traore as they have been keen on him for a while.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “Leeds are now tempted to turn back to players they have had an interest in for some time. Hwang is an obvious one but also look out for Adama Traore.”

Although, it remains to be seen whether or not Wolves would be willing to let the winger leave at this point in the window.

Dream James replacement

Dan James is reportedly undergoing a medical ahead of a move to fellow Premier League side Fulham and Adama could come in as a dream replacement for him.

The Welshman was notable for having rapid speed and he used that to create chances for Leeds as a winger - providing five 'big chances' to his teammates - and to cause problems for opposition players whilst playing up front.

His pace allowed him to stretch matches and open up space for other attackers to work in, as well as proving himself with opportunities to score - finding the back of the net five times.

Adama was listed as the third-fastest player in the top-flight last season and the £43k-per-week gem ranks in the 95th percentile for progressive carries and the 99th percentile for dribbles completed per 90 among players in his position in Europe's top five leagues over the last 365 days.

This shows that he can use his speed to good effect, getting his team up the pitch. Frank Khalid previously described him as a "monster" and claimed that he caused "havoc" against Manchester United in 2021.

He had a disrupted 2021/22 campaign as he spent the first half at Wolves and the second half at Barcelona but showed glimpses of the creativity he can provide, creating five 'big chances' in 14 league starts between the two clubs.

Therefore, he could be a dream replacement for James as he offers similar qualities in terms of his pace and ability to create openings for teammates. Jesse Marsch could use him to stretch matches and cause chaos in behind opposition defences, whilst hoping that he can find consistency in his end product.
