According to The Athletic, Leeds United are one of the contenders to sign Tottenham starlet Ryan Sessegnon on a season-long loan before the end of the transfer window next week.

What's the word?

The Whites have enjoyed a superb start to the new Premier League season, with two wins from three, with their only defeat coming at the hands of Liverpool at Anfield on the opening day.

Their success on the pitch has also been reflected off it, with a number of high-profile signings like Rodrigo and Robin Koch already walking through the door.

Now, The Athletic claim that along with the likes of Brighton, Southampton and Hertha Berlin, Leeds are one of the potential destinations for Sessegnon, with Spurs requesting a loan fee and for the youngster's salary to be fully covered.

Another Jack Harrison success story

A young talented winger, coming in on loan from one of the Premier League's big six sides. Sound familiar? Leeds of course have already seen Jack Harrison develop into an important part of their first-team over the past couple of seasons, with his loan move from Manchester City eventually being made permanent earlier in the summer.

Marcelo Bielsa's side can find yet another loan success story in Sessegnon, who has struggled for first-team opportunities at Tottenham since joining from Fulham in the summer of 2019 - he played just 12 times across all competitions last season.

Despite the lack of game-time, Sessegnon still produced some moments of magic for Spurs, including scoring at the Allianz Arena in Spurs' 3-1 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League group stages.

The £22.5m-rated ace is a speed demon, ranking as the 15th fastest player in the top-flight for the 2018/2019 campaign, whilst former Derby County boss, Gary Rowett, described him as a "unique talent" following his impressive performance against them.

A season-long loan could see Sessegnon embrace the chance for first-team football, and also gives Leeds their next Harrison-esque success story.
