According to reports, Leeds United are in the race to sign Sheffield Wednesday starlet Osaze Urhoghide.
What's the story?
Despite signing a couple of centre-backs in last summer's transfer window in Diego Llorente and Robin Koch, it appears Marcelo Bielsa isn't quite done with reshaping the centre of defence.
Now, Football League World have claimed that Leeds are one of a number of clubs tracking 20-year-old Urhoghide, whose contract with the Owls is coming to an end this summer, and with no resolution as of yet.
The report adds that "an initial offer has been made to the centre-back, but nothing has yet been agreed as his contract at the club winds down".
Building Bielsa's future
With Charlie Cresswell the standout academy centre-back at Leeds, and surely someone who Bielsa should consider unleashing, particularly next season, the Whites have already got one starlet ready to be a cornerstone of the side's defence for the years to come.
In the 20-year-old Urhoghide, they could find the perfect long-term partner for Cresswell. The turn of the year has seen him break onto the scene at Hillsborough, playing eight times for Darren Moore's side.
Former Wednesday boss Garry Monk, who of course managed Leeds for a brief stint, was glowing in his praise of Urhoghide, saying: "I’ve been really pleased with him. There are few things in football that are up there with seeing a young lad make his debut and start his journey with the club.
