After taking over from Massimo Cellino back in the summer of 2017, Andrea Radrizzani has been the man at the head of the tree as Leeds United finally secured their return to the Premier League.

And speaking last month, the Italian paid tribute to all the people who have had to work hard and sacrifice to get the Whites back into the big-time, and vowed the club would be looking to become a real force over the coming seasons.

He said: "I am so happy for everyone in the Leeds United family, we all deserve this promotion. We have been out of the top-flight for 16 years and I am thrilled for the whole club and our incredible fans that we are back in the Premier League. I would like to congratulate our fantastic manager, Marcelo Bielsa, the entire coaching and backroom staff, and of course all of the players who have performed outstandingly throughout the season.

"Thank you to all our wonderful fans – I am so grateful for their loyal and unwavering support every season. They played a crucial role to drive us forward to promotion this year. Our ambition does not stop here – and we are determined to continue on this path of achievement in future seasons."

And as per the latest transfer news, it appears Radrizzani himself is taking steps to ensure Leeds are in the best possible shape heading into the new campaign.

According to Italian publication Il Messaggero, the Leeds owner has contacted Serie A giants Lazio over a number of their key players, including powerhouse Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

The Serbia international has established himself as one of European football's best midfielders, with his agent, Mateja Kezman, even declaring: "I do really respect (Paul) Pogba, let's be clear, and other linkers who can run and work for the team, but I think now Sergej has different and better quality than Pogba.

"Over the last six months, he has made enormous progress at Lazio. If he retains his health, he can become the most complete player on the planet. He has remarkable attributes and you'll not find another player in the world with that power, muscular structure and height combined with technique and tactical awareness."

Signing the £80k-a-week star would be proof that Radrizzani is someone who can back up his words with real action, and that he truly means business. After more than a decade away from the top-flight, Leeds' owner must seize his chance to establish the Whites as a Premier League force once more, and that can only come by putting his money where his mouth is.
