Leeds United are broadening their search for new personnel as the January transfer window approaches. They are currently in a crisis as their defence continues to be hammered by injuries. As it stands, Liam Cooper, Robin Koch and Diego Llorente are all out of action and it could spell trouble ahead of their weekend clash with Burnley.

But it isn't just the backline that Marcelo Bielsa needs to be giving some attention to. The Whites would benefit from some new attacking options too, considering the fact that Patrick Bamford has scored 36% of Leeds' goals across all competitions this season, as per BBC Sport.

One target who has appeared on Leeds' radar is Adama Traore, and Victor Orta must work his magic on bringing the winger to Elland Road.

Traore must be reunited with Bamford

In order to alleviate the pressure from Bamford, Leeds have brought in the likes of Raphinha and Jack Harrison. Whilst they have chipped in here and there, the responsibility still falls heavily on the club's No.9 to find the back of the net.

Bamford has previously worked with Traore during their time at Middlesbrough and they were indeed a force to be reckoned with.

Back in 2018, Boro thrashed Leeds 3-0 thanks to a Bamford hat-trick, but the Englishman was aided by the speedy Spaniard. According to BBC Sport, Traore set up their second goal of the match with a lovely assist and his deflected effort later on was put away by his clinical teammate.

The duo caused all sorts of problems for Cooper and his men at the back and the skipper will be relieved that he doesn't have to play against Bamford anymore. Signing the £43,000 per week Wolves ace would hugely bolster Bielsa's attacking flair and it would reunite the fiery duo from Boro.

Despite being lauded for his "unbelievable" skill on the ball, he is an inconsistent starter for the Wanderers. He could be ready for a new chapter in his career and he might relish the chance to team-up with Bamford again.
