Leeds United have been linked with a move for Club Brugge star Charles De Ketelaere.

What's the news?

In a recent Twitter post, journalist and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano had this to say on the matter.

He said: "Leeds are monitoring Bruges star Charles De Ketelaere as one of the options in the list, as Raphinha could leave for £65m."

He then added that AC Milan are also interested in the player this summer as well.

As a product of Brugge's youth system, the 21-year-old has made 120 senior appearances for the club, scoring 25 goals and providing 20 assists along the way.

On the international stage, the youngster has now made eight senior appearances for Belgium, over which he has scored one goal.

In 33 league appearances last season, the versatile forward found the net 14 times and delivered seven assists.

To further highlight the attacking talent that he had on show last season, in his 33 league games, he racked up a higher number of shots at goal (73) and shots on target (31) than any other player in the Brugge squad.

He also delivered 79 crosses, made 15 interceptions and won 23 tackles.

Great news for Marsch

Taking into account how only four other teams scored fewer goals in the Premier League than Leeds (42) last season, it's easy to see why the Yorkshire club have their eye on a deal to bring the Belgian to Elland Road this summer.

Should the Whites end up securing a deal for the Brugge star ahead of Milan, this would surely be a massive coup for the club and have Jesse Marsch jumping for joy.

Indeed, the 48-year-old would undoubtedly love to have such a young attacking talent at his disposal next term, and De Ketelaere would surely give the club a long-term star at Elland Road.

Moving forward, having already brought in the likes of Marc Roca, Brenden Aaronson and Rasmus Kristensen this summer, adding De Ketelaere to that list could be a solid next move for the club and put the team in a good shape to take on their next Premier League campaign.

Should the Whites end up sealing his signature in the coming weeks, he certainly has what it takes to make a name for himself in the Premier League and be a very useful asset for Leeds in an attacking sense.
