Leeds United are interested in a deal to bring Hwang Hee-chan to Elland Road this summer.

What's the talk?

That's according to Alan Nixon, with The Sun journalist revealing on his Patreon (via Birmingham Live) that, following Tottenham Hotspur's shock interest in a move for Daniel James, should Antonio Conte's side stump up the Whites' reported £20m asking price for the winger, Victor Orta will pursue his own £15m move for the Wolverhampton Wanderers forward.

In his post, Nixon said: "Leeds are keen because of his versatility across the front line. The South Korean is finding game time harder at Wolves with their latest round of spending and the time may be right to move.

"Other clubs are aware of his possible availability but Leeds would have a great chance of pulling off the deal if James and Spurs becomes a cash deal at the right price."

Marsch would love him

Considering just how impressive Hwang was for Jesse Marsch during the duo's shared time spent at Red Bull Salzburg, in addition to having spent a year in Wolverhampton adjusting to the English game, it is not difficult to understand why the American would be keen to bring the South Korea international to Elland Road in the coming days.

Indeed, over his 43 appearances under the 48-year-old's management at Salzburg, the £14.4m-rated talent was in sensational form, scoring 16 goals and registering 24 assists - averaging a quite astonishing direct goal involvement every 66 minutes of football played under Marsch.

The £19k-per-week winger particularly impressed over his 27 Austrian Bundesliga appearances - only 17 of which came as starts - in 2019/20, scoring 11 goals, registering 13 assists and creating 15 big chances for his teammates, in addition to taking an average of 1.7 shots, making 1.6 key passes and completing 1.2 dribbles per game.

These returns saw the player who Richard Buxton dubbed "incredible" and Nathan Judah labelled an "exciting talent" average a quite breathtaking SofaScore match rating of 7.29, not only ranking him as Marsch's joint sixth-best performer in the league but also as the joint seventh-best player in the division as a whole that year.

As such, should James go on to seal a move away from Elland Road this summer, Hwang would not only appear to represent a fantastic replacement for the Welshman, but he would also be a signing Marsch would undoubtedly love to welcome to his first-team squad.
