Interest in Leeds United winger Raphinha is increasing ahead of the summer transfer window.

What's the talk?

Transfer Focus

That's according to a report by Spanish publication Sport, who claim that West Ham United have now made a second approach to Leeds concerning a deal for the 25-year-old forward, who has also been heavily linked with a summer switch to Barcelona.

The report goes on to state that David Moyes, who reportedly saw a £50m bid rejected for the Brazilain in January, is keen to bring the forward to the London Stadium ahead of the 2022/23 campaign, however, it is said that Raphinha would prefer a move to the LaLiga side - and is waiting for Barca to make a final offer to Leeds.

Supporters would be livid

While it would appear unlikely that Raphinha will end up joining West Ham ahead of Barcelona this summer, the prospect of Leeds selling one of their most prized assets to another Premier League side is certainly something that would leave the Elland Road faithful livid.

Indeed, the £40.5m-rated forward has proven to be a revelation in the Leeds attack following his £17m move to England back in October 2020, scoring 16 goals, registering 12 assists and creating 21 big chances over his 61 Premier League appearances, as well as making an average of 2.1 key passes, taking 2.4 shots and completing 2.0 dribbles per game.

These returns have seen the £63k-per-week Brazilian average a highly impressive SofaScore match rating of 7.05 over his two league campaigns for the Whites - playing a key role in the club securing a top-half finish last season, as well as giving Jesse Marsch's side a chance of avoiding relegation this term.

As such, while waving goodbye to Raphinha at the end of the current campaign will certainly come as a blow to Leeds, Victor Orta simply must not sell the forward to another Premier League side, be that West Ham or anyone else, as it is abundantly clear to see just how deadly a talent the 25-year-old is in the top flight - something that could very easily come back to bite the Whites.
