Leeds United have seen numerous players make moves away from the Yorkshire club during their recent summer and winter transfer windows.

One big name that waved goodbye to Elland Road during the 2021 summer transfer window was Ezgjan Alioski.

After making 169 appearances for the Whites, over which he racked up 22 goals and 19 assists, the left-back joined Saudi club Al-Ahli SFC.

Even though the Yorkshire club brought in Junior Firpo as Alioski's replacement, the full-back had a tough debut season with Leeds in which he only managed to provide one assist in 23 appearances as well as racking up 11 yellow cards and numerous injury issues.

Now, the remaining few weeks of the current market could give Victor Orta the chance to bring in a better-suited replacement and potential next version of the north Macedonian to Elland Road.

One potential candidate for this role that the Whites have been linked with recently is PSV Eindhoven left-back Philipp Max.

With 247 combined appearances under his belt for PSV and his previous club FC Augsburg, the £19k-per-week defender has racked up 23 goals and 37 assists, highlighting his clear attacking talent.

In fact, with 25 league appearances to his name last season, the 28-year-old delivered the second-highest number of crosses at PSV (92) as well as having 23 shots at goal.

Bearing in mind how Alioski managed to deliver 536 crosses in 161 league appearances for Leeds across the Championship and Premier League, it's safe to say that Max has the attacking capabilities to be a better version of the former Leeds full-back than Firpo.

From a defensive point of view, the German showed his mettle by winning 31 tackles and making 17 interceptions, proving how solid he can be without the ball as well as on it going forward.

Previously hailed as being "one of the best left-backs in Germany," according to former Augsburg teammate Tin Jedvaj, Max would certainly be a massive asset for Jesse Marsch, especially in terms of helping the side attack their opponents.

Taking into account how Firpo recently picked up an injury that will reportedly see him miss the first few weeks of the new Premier League season, now could be the perfect time for Orta to launch a move for the PSV dynamo and bring him to Elland Road.
