Leeds United could be in for a busy week with the transfer window set to close in just seven days time and it seems they are closing in on one name...

What's the word?

According to L'Equipe, the Yorkshire giants are on the verge of signing Bayern Munich midfielder Michael Cuisance for a fee of €20m (£18m).

It's claimed that personal terms have been agreed on a contract until June 2025, although some finer details between the two teams are still yet to be finalised.

He could become their fourth signing of the summer having already brought in centre-back duo Robin Koch and Diego Llorente as well as striker Rodrigo.

Who is he?

The 21-year-old only joined the Bundesliga giants from league rivals Borussia Monchengladbach last summer and has struggled to cement his place amongst the senior fold, which is perhaps a surprise.

Bayern have lost Thiago to Liverpool and could soon see the departure of Javi Martinez, which leaves them light in midfield options yet the France U20 international is seemingly deemed surplus to requirements too.

Cuisance is primarily a number ten who loves "risk and creativity," so it's not a shock to see him likened to Mesut Ozil with Bundesliga.com describing him as having "a wand of a left foot, is a veritable bag of tricks and for a good chunk of 2017/18 was Gladbach’s go-to guy from set plays."

Whilst Sky Sports' Michael Bridge believes he's more like Michael Carrick due to his "good technique" and "good vision."

The 5 foot 11 maestro only started three games last term, so it's hard to gauge what sort of impact he could have in the Premier League but he's had many players and staff sing his plaudits in the past.

His former manager Dieter Hecking hailed him as a "game-changer" whilst ex-teammate Christoph Kramer claims Cuisance "At 17, he was already as far along as I was when I was 22!"

Whether he plays in the hole or slightly deeper, he could well become the long-term heir to Pablo Hernandez's throne which in itself is an exciting prospect already.

For £18m, it seems like a steal.
