Leeds United may have secured Robin Koch already this summer, but they could soon have another young and talented centre-back coming through the door at Elland Road...

What's the word?

According to Sportske Novosti, the Yorkshire giants have already agreed on a €20m (£18m) deal to secure Josko Gvardiol from Croatian outfit Dinamo Zagreb.

They claim that the 18-year-old will not link up with his new Leeds teammates until after Dinamo's Champions League qualifier against Ferencvaros, which isn't set to be played until September 16th.

That's four days after the Whites kickstart their first Premier League campaign in over 16 years away to Liverpool.

Young project

This could be quite the signing for Leeds - even if he doesn't become a regular part of the starting XI straight away.

The young Croatian has been coveted by some of Europe's biggest clubs, including Pep Guardiola's Manchester City and UCL winners Bayern Munich.

Gvardiol was named in the Guardian's 'Next Generation: 60 best young talents in world football' where he is claimed to idolise and model his game on Liverpool colossus Virgil van Dijk. It's claimed that he's an "advanced defender" who is "strong both physically and technically".

Although the teenager appears to be rather raw due to his lack of playing time, he does seem like a great fit for Marcelo Bielsa and his United system.

As per LeedsLive, he is "confident in the air" and "with the ball at his feet" and can often get the better of his pacy opposition due to his pace and athleticism - even despite being 6 foot 1.

Whilst FBH highlight how he's actually a bit of a playmaker, often stepping into midfield to start Zagreb's attacks and finding that exact pass to create a chance.

The Croatian sensation would be quite the project for Bielsa and it can't hurt to have one or two more centre-backs given the blows to Ben White and Gaetano Berardi.
