Leicester City are scouting Poland striker Adam Buksa

Leicester City are reportedly scouting New England Revolution striker Adam Buksa ahead of a potential move.

What’s the story?

According to journalist Ryan Hubbard, who specialises in Polish football (as relayed by the Leicester Mercury), the Foxes’ recruitment team were tracking the 25-year-old during the recent international break.

The Midlands outfit strengthened their forward line over the summer, bringing in Patson Daka from RB Salzburg in a £23m deal, but with talismanic hitman Jamie Vardy approaching his 35th birthday, further additions may be required.

Do Leicester need another striker?

Yes, definitely!

Yes, definitely!

No way!

No way!

Imagine him and Harvey Barnes

Buksa has established himself as one of the most exciting forward players in the MLS since arriving at the Gillette Stadium back in January 2020.

After bagging 10 goals and providing two assists in just 23 appearances for the Revs last term, the 6 foot 3 colossus earned a call-up to the Poland national team and has continued to thrive on the international stage.

He has scored four goals in three appearances since making his debut for his country against Albania, notching in a 4-1 win over the Eagles before following that up with a hat-trick in a 7-1 thrashing against San Marino.

Buksa would surely have been hoping to continue that good run of form in front of Leicester’s scouts, having featured from the off in Poland’s World Cup qualifier against England on Wednesday night.

Speaking about Paulo Sousa’s decision to call him up for the World Cup qualifiers, Buksa said: “That feels simply great for me.

“Selected as one of the strikers for the Polish national team alongside players like (Robert) Lewandowski, it means a lot to me. It’s always been my dream and very happy to be a part of that team.”

His potential arrival at the King Power Stadium would see Buksa link up with several exciting attacking talents, although it’s perhaps Harvey Barnes who would benefit the most.

The flying winger likes to cut inside and link up with the central striker, something that Buksa is excellent at doing. The pair could form a formidable duo at Leicester, making the transition to life after Vardy a smooth one.
