Liverpool continued their winning streak after a European night at Anfield saw them come away victorious once again. The Reds bagged themselves a 2-0 win over Midtjylland, who did their best to spoil a home fixture for the reigning league champions.

However, thanks to Diogo Jota and Mohamed Salah, the Merseysiders were able to produce enough of a performance to see them over the line.

The club's most recent signing continues to impress with his composure and threat in front of goal. His opener last night only further highlights why Jurgen Klopp and co opted to sign him in the first place.

Jota could be the answer to Klopp's problems

One major worry in the Liverpool camp has been the fact that Sadio Mane and Salah are streets ahead of any back-up wingers. Harry Wilson has been shipped out on loan again, Harvey Elliott is out finding his feet and Xherdan Shaqiri continues to be a conundrum for Klopp.

The Reds snapped up Jota from Wolves in a £41million summer deal, which seemed at the time a bit steep for a fringe player. But the manager clearly had more intricate plans for the Portugal international.

Whilst he will provide much-needed cover for Mane and Salah, Jota has already been implemented into a brand new Liverpool attack as well. The 23-year-old played on the right against Sheffield United whilst Salah took Roberto Firmino's usual role up front. The Brazilian fell further back to complete a front four formation, which seemed to bring out the best in him.

Similarly, Jota also found the back of the net in an all-important win over the Blades. His tally for Liverpool is now up to three goals in eight appearances for his new side (via Transfermarkt).

According to Sofascore, the former Wolves star completed 100% of his dribbles against Midtjylland and won 10/13 of his attempted duels. He also made two tackles and drew in two fouls, showing that the Danish side's defence struggled to contain him.

With Liverpool's injury woes across the backline, it will be a huge relief for Klopp to see his attack is firing from all cylinders. Signing Jota was a stroke of genius from the club and his presence could be what makes or breaks this season for the holding champions.
