Liverpool have seen numerous attacking players join the Merseyside club over the past few years.

With the Reds boasting the best attacking record in the Premier League this season, it seems as though the scouting and recruitment staff at the club have certainly been doing a top job.

Looking ahead to the next summer transfer window, it seems as though the Anfield outfit have their eye on bringing yet another attacking talent to their squad.

Although, they may have a challenge on their hands this time around.

What's the news?

According to Sky Sports Austria (via Inside Futbol) Liverpool are in talks with Red Bull Salzburg over the potential summer transfer of striker Karim Adeyemi.

It has also been claimed that despite having a basic agreement in place with Borussia Dortmund for the player, other clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain and RB Leipzig are also in the mix to sign the 20-year-old.

With 123 senior appearances under his belt for Salzburg and his previous club FC Liefering, the attacker has scored 45 goals and provided 32 assists along the way.

This shows what an exciting young attacking and creative talent the German is and presumably why there are so many clubs after his signature.

Labelled as being "ice cold" in front of goal by former Bayern Munich manager Hansi Flick, Adeyemi has found the back of the net 19 times and delivered five assists in 32 appearances across the Austrian Bundesliga and the Champions League this season.

Having been described as being "the star" for Salzburg during their Champions League clash against Bayern back in February by Glenn Hoddle, this shows how capable he is of playing against top opposition on the big stage.

Given how young he is, the £31.5m-rated starlet could be an ideal long-term investment for Liverpool to make.

Also, with Klopp having used young players in his Liverpool side such as Harvey Elliott, Curtis Jones, Tyler Morton and Kaide Gordon over the years, Adeyemi could be the next emerging prodigy to develop at Anfield.

Moving forward, as long as there is still an opportunity to sign the 20-year-old in the summer, Liverpool should stay in the mix to secure his signature.
