With 28 points on the board from their opening 13 Premier League games and more goals scored than any other top-flight side (39), Liverpool are comfortably in the race to win the title this season alongside Chelsea and Manchester City.
One player that has played a massive part in Liverpool's solid start to the season is winger Mohamed Salah, who has managed to rack up an impressive total of 17 goals and seven assists in 18 appearances across all competitions.
Unsurprisingly, probably as a result of his impressive attacking statistics so far this season, the Egyptian has been mentioned with a move to Spanish club Real Madrid in recent days, who are apparently keen on signing the winger.
Since joining the Merseyside club back in the 2017 summer transfer window from Italian club AS Roma in a deal worth a reported fee of £34m, Salah has been nothing short of a phenomenon at Liverpool, with a total of 142 goals and 54 assists in 221 appearances under his belt.
His staggering goalscoring record this season, as well as his clear ability to set his teammates up to put the ball in the back of the net, are both unmatched in the division. Thus, Salah's overall performances in the league have earned him an overall season rating of 8.09/10, making him the highest-rated player in the Premier League according to WhoScored.

Taking all of this into account, it would be a complete disaster for the club and current sporting director Michael Edwards if Salah were to leave Liverpool before his current contract expires in the summer of 2023.
Labelled as "unstoppable" by former Reds player Alberto Aquilani, it's no surprise that a team such as Real Madrid are apparently interested in bringing the 29-year-old, who is currently picking up a weekly wage of £200k-per-week at Liverpool according to Spotrac, given how many world-class talents they've had at their club over the years.
However, with the Egyptian saying earlier this season that he does not want to leave the Merseyside club, this will surely be a relief to any Liverpool fans that could be concerned about his future at Anfield.
Moving forward, with Edwards set to leave his role at the club in the summer, it should be his number one priority to make sure Salah puts pen to paper on a new deal at Liverpool and put any speculation about his future to bed. Losing him would be nothing short of a catastrophe at Anfield.
