Liverpool have been enjoying a successful era since the appointment of Jurgen Klopp back in 2015, with the German coach building a super team that has dominated on all fronts, winning a trophy in almost every competition they have participated in since he arrived.

The Reds have won a Champions League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup, UEFA Super Cup, Community Shield, FIFA Club World Cup and of course, their first ever Premier League title, only missing out on the Europa League trophy during Klopp's first six years at the club.

Although the manager can take a lot of credit for the achievements of the Merseyside giants over the last seven years, there are key players in the team that have time and time again proven their elite quality to give the supporters some of the best memories they will have from the club.

One player who has been a constant and reliable force in the team and a servant to Klopp's strict but genius system at Anfield is Brazilian forward Roberto Firmino who is now one of the most famous players to adopt and execute the false nine role masterfully.

The 30-year-old star has scored 101 goals and delivered 77 assists over 335 appearances with a goal contribution every 134 minutes which is likely why he is the player to make the most appearances under Klopp so far, with 59 more appearances than Sadio Mane who comes in second as the manager's most used player at Liverpool.

Firmino was signed for just £21.3m from Hoffenheim back in 2015 by Brendan Rodgers, and despite not being one of Klopp's signings, has become one of his most admired players in the team with the manager hailing him a "ball chaser" when lavishing praise on the forward in a press conference.

Klopp claimed: "He is a connector. He is the best offensive defender I ever saw in my life, definitely. He is a ball chaser, he is defensively incredibly smart with all the things he is doing.

"He is technically on the highest level, is able to play in the smallest spaces, the tiniest spaces. Can make incredibly good decisions in a really short time."

With that being said, there is no doubt that FSG struck gold with Firmino and it will be interesting to see if the club extends his stay at the club beyond his contract expiration in June 2023 with three goals and three assists already tallied up in eight appearances this season so far.
