New Liverpool signing Marcelo Pitaluga reportedly impressed the coaching staff in their most recent training session. Despite being just 17-years-old, the shot-stopper jumped straight into the first team action at Melwood and took no time in showing his abilities.

According to the Liverpool ECHO, Marcelo made an impressive save during training and it earned a lot of praise from the coaching staff. It has also been reported that Liverpool will not be outsourcing a new goalkeeper before the EFL transfer window closes but may have another option in the new teen.

Marcelo set to shine at Anfield

Whilst a newly signed teenager is not about to knock Adrian off his perch as Alisson's deputy, he may be deployed later in the season. It's no secret that club personnel are growing cautious of the Spaniard's inconsistent displays but it also appears to be obvious that their hands are tied.

Despite many links between the Reds and Stoke City's Jack Butland, no new senior goalkeeper will be signed before Friday. This could mean that Jurgen Klopp still has hope that Adrian can turn everything around. However, if he cannot rectify his mistakes against Everton on Saturday, a major decision may need to be made. This could involve the promotion of Caoimhin Kelleher or even Marcelo, who are both looking to impress the manager and grab some first team minutes.

Certainly if the young Brazilian has already made waves amongst the first team, he may come into action against teams lower down the Premier League table. For example, Liverpool are set to host Sheffield United after they face Everton and the Blades are currently in the relegation zone on zero points.

So far, only Fulham have done worse than Chris Wilder's side and despite it still being early days, Klopp may be forced to put the impressive Marcelo into play, should Adrian continue to disappoint.
