This news has made its way onto Twitter which got plenty of fans discussing the 25-year-old and whether he should remain at Anfield.

It is safe to say that there are many who have no interest in seeing him stay at Liverpool past this season.

One reference point was the amount of injuries he has had, and according to Transfermarkt, the 25-year-old has missed 28 games with seven injuries since joining the club.

Looking at this season, the Guinea international has started just 11 games across all competitions, coming off the bench on seven occasions.

Call yourself a Liverpool expert? How much did each of these big-money January signings cost?

That he didn't even make the bench in the second-leg against Atletico Madrid says a lot about his current status at the club.

He has been compared to plenty of players by fans with one stating that they "honestly believe Andy Carroll was a better transfer deal", while another likened him to Daniel Sturridge.

Judging by these responses, it seems as though fans are keen for him to leave, though it will likely feel very anticlimactic if it does come to that, considering he was signed for what was a club-record fee when the deal was agreed, as reported by BBC Sport at the time.

Despite all of the work that went into bringing him to Anfield, it seems as though Keita doesn't have many more opportunities to show that he should stay.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have been urged to steal a signing from under Manchester United's noses.
