Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling refused to rule out a move to Liverpool, during a Q&A on Colossal Sports Management's Instagram page, via The Mirror.

What did he say?

The England international, who is rated at £144m by Transfermarkt, started his Premier League career at Anfield, turning out for the Reds a total of 129 times between the 2011/12 and 2014/15 campaigns, scoring 25 goals and assisting a further 21.

After moving to Man City, the 25-year-old has played 230 times for them, recording 89 goals and 72 assists.

He may get booed every time he goes back to Anfield, but the hard feelings do not go both ways - it turns out any suggestion of that would be far from the case.

When asked if he would ever move back, he replied: "Would I ever go back to Liverpool? To be honest with you I love Liverpool.

"Don’t get it twisted, they are always in my heart. It’s a team that done a lot for me growing up so…"

Incredible admission

That he still loves the club is a pretty incredible admission, due to the amount of hatred that has been thrown his way since he departed Liverpool.

Regardless of the feeling towards him, it has to be said that it would be very intriguing to see how Sterling would do in Jurgen Klopp's side, having already thrived under Pep Guardiola.

Looking at this season, he has made 32 starts and six substitute appearances across all competitions for City, scoring 20 goals and assisting three more.

His influence on the ball is also clear to see, as the 25-year-old averages 1.7 key passes and 1.9 dribbles while being fouled 1.9 times per Champions League game this term.

Considering the quality Liverpool already have in the attacking areas, adding Sterling's talent to the mix seems almost unfathomable, and would strike fear into opposition defences.

Meanwhile, Liverpool fans have been left in despair by one transfer update.
