Former Premier League star Nigel Jemson believes that Mohamed Salah will be wanted by a number of top clubs next summer.

The Egypt international has been in electric form already this season, scoring five goals in six games in all competitions.

Salah was prolific last season, too, scoring 31 times in 51 games, also registering six assists.

The forward’s contract is set to expire in 2022, meaning that Liverpool are running the risk of clubs sensing an opportunity to snap him up for a reduced fee next summer.

Salah is valued at £90m by Transfermarkt and he may be seen as attainable by top clubs next summer, when a number of elite players could be on the move.

Erling Haaland, the Borussia Dortmund striker, has a release clause that becomes active next summer, while Kylian Mbappe could move on a free transfer to Real Madrid after the Spanish club failed to sign him in the summer, despite a bid of £171m.

Speaking exclusively to Football FanCast, Jemson said: “People said he had a bad season last year but he still scored the goals he did so I’m sure there will be takers all over the place for him.

“It depends on finance and whether he wants to go or not, I think he’s happy where he is.”
