Liverpool struggled compared to in previous years in front of goal and Jurgen Klopp may want more firepower next season and Dusan Vlahovic could be a perfect fit for their attacking lineup, according to Forza Italian Football editor in chief, Conor Clancy.

Roberto Firmino has never been renowned for being a top scorer in Liverpool's side but even for his standards, nine goals in a full Premier League season was well below par.

Performances overall at Anfield may be a big reason as to why Liverpool are being linked with a stunning move to sign Vlahovic for a reported £43 million, and there would be no guarantee that someone worth that much would even start.

Liverpool would be able to call on Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Firmino, Diogo Jota and Vlahovic if they signed the Serbian international and when Clancy was asked about the prospect of seeing the Serb in a front three with the former two, he told Football FanCast:

"It wouldn't be bad at all. I think that's the type of partnership Vlahovic would settle in so easy with, just like a duck to water because if you've got those players playing alongside you then your job is made a little bit easier. It would be very demanding but I think he's capable."

Vlahovic was signed as a complete unknown in 2018 but at Fiorentina, he has flourished into one of the brightest young talents across Europe so whatever Fiorentina sell him for, it will be a huge profit on the £1.76 million they paid for him.

For someone so young, Vlahovic's record is sublime and looks like a seasoned pro in the Serie A as he has netted 21 goals in just 37 games in a Fiorentina side that finished in a disappointing 13th.
