Liverpool have already conducted one piece of transfer business this summer and they could make it two with a swoop for a new winger...

What's the word?

According to Sky Sports, the Premier League champions are one of the teams interested in relegated AFC Bournemouth star David Brooks.

It's claimed that five top-flight teams are keen on the Welshman, including Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur but the Cherries ideally do not want to sell him this window.

They are, however, inclined to accept if a decent offer falls their way, though no bids have come forward as of yet. It's thought that Brooks could cost around £40m, as per the Daily Mail.

Additions needed

Earlier this summer, Adam Lallana departed Anfield for Brighton whilst the futures of Xherdan Shaqiri and Harry Wilson are by no means certain - it's thought that the Reds would be keen to move both on this summer, which would leave a serious lack of depth out wide.

Klopp has been linked with moves for Dortmund sensation Jadon Sancho and Wolves powerhouse Adama Traore, but perhaps he should forget either as they'd cost well over £70m.

Whereas Brooks could certainly be in a price bracket that suits the title winners.

The 23-year-old barely featured for Bournemouth this season due to injury and it showed as they were sent packing to the Championship yet during the 2018/19 campaign, the Welsh wizard was electric, providing seven goals and five assists, which is more than anything Shaqiri has delivered for the Reds.

In Brooks, Liverpool would be getting "creative flair" and "non-stop energy," at least according to Eddie Howe, who also claimed the winger was "creative" and "intelligent" to Sky Sports.

He's also a young talent with "tonnes of ability" according to teammate Chris Mepham, so he really could be an ideal project for someone like Klopp.

Forget Sancho, sack off Shaqiri, and bring in the 23-year-old who recently beat Gareth Bale to his nation's Player of the Year award. It makes perfect sense.
