Liverpool have already signed three players this summer and have now started their pre-season at the AXA training ground, but they could be about to make another signing as a new potential transfer target has been revealed.

What's the latest?

According to reports in Spain, Liverpool are interested in signing Red Bull Salzburg striker Benjamin Sesko this summer.

As per the report, Tottenham Hotspur join the Reds in their interest in signing the player, but Liverpool will need to act fast as it is claimed that the north London club have tabled an offer of €20m (£17m).

Imagine him & Salah

Although Liverpool have already signed Darwin Nunez there would certainly be no harm in the club investing in some more young talent in their forward line, especially with Sadio Mane, Taki Minamino and Divock Origi all leaving the club already and rumours of Roberto Firmino potentially set for an exit too.

Sesko has only made 36 appearances since joining Salzburg in 2019 but has scored ten goals and contributed seven assists, with a goal contribution every 91 minutes played.

The 19-year-old has been hailed "composed" and has even been dubbed as a "mini Haaland" by journalist Tom Maston and it's not hard to see why the comparison to the newly-signed Manchester City star is often made by the media.

Both strikers use their towering stature to dominate in their position and push off their opponents with the pair both standing at 6 foot 4, and like Sesko, Erling Haaland polished his skills with Salzburg before joining Borussia Dortmund in 2020.

Now, the Norwegian goal machine has joined Liverpool's top title rivals Man City, signing Sesko could be the golden opportunity to secure the second coming of Haaland to continue to compete with the Premier League champions.

Klopp could even form a formidable strike partnership between the Slovakian striker and Mohamed Salah now that the Egyptian winger has committed his future at Anfield for a further three years.

With that being said, if FSG could secure a deal for the £17m youngster it could be a great piece of business for Liverpool in their pursuit to add depth and plan for the future of the club.
